A few things to remember
1. Remember to listen carefully.
Sometimes you only have one chance to listen.

If we don't listen, God cannot lead and bless us.
2. Look forward with faith. Leave the past in the past.

Phillipians 3: 13 "...this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before"
Leaving the past behind often requires repentance. Look forward with hope.
3. Laugh often
Genesis 21: 6 ¶And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
4. Love deeply
